Mediterranean Vineyard

A fresh pot of tea steeps on the granite island counter top, as the morning sun reflects off the grape leaves in the nearby vineyard. Working with the owners/contractors of this Oregon wine country home in the foothills of the coastal range, we collaboratively designed the cabinet work to fit in with the rustic nature of the structure, as well as the surrounding landscape. The interior decor consisted of mostly native Oregon wood species, and we honored that trend by crafting a beautify Oregon Walnut island at the conversational center of the home.

Westerly Lights

Inspired by sparking city lights in the background, the design of elegant and well lit quartersawn Anigre veneer bookcases and credenza and Wenge veneer television/lift housing appears in harmony with spacious loft floor plan. An office storage cabinet with sliding quartersawn white oak wood and acrylic shoji doors keep files, equipment, binders and supplies out of sight.

Provence on Cumberland

Garden scents drift through the kitchen and intermingles with the smell of fresh espresso and the bouquet of flowers on the spacious kitchen island. The cabinetry for this Mediterranean inspired kitchen was given a free-standing furniture look by adding columns, carved corbels, heavy base trims, crown and panels. The built-in refrigerator was surrounded by full-height surround panels and had painted wood panels added to the doors to give it an “armoire appearance. The painted cabinetry has a subtle sponge glaze treatment done with some light sanding to give it an accelerated wear/antique appearance. A plate display rack, hand-blown glass on a dish cabinet and an innovative exhaust hood surround cover and custom fireplace mantel promote a traditional look and blends in with the spirit of the house beautifully.

Buena Vista Sunrise

Existing mill work and cabinetry feature found throughout the home inspired the crafting this 1997 remodeled kitchen. Using the wood species, style forms that were found elsewhere throughout the home, the updated kitchen cabinetry and custom mill work was fashioned to blend into the look and spirit of the house, while paying homage to the original architect and builder. The island columns pulled in details from the dining room of the home, and the storage cubbies and plate rack helped define the character of the space. An artisan-painted custom pantry give the room some additional color and excitement. Grain matching of drawer faces across an elevation demonstrates an attention to details rarely seen, and a commitment to craft rarely seen in modern woodwork fabrication.

River Refuge

Gorgeous mountain and urban views fill the spacious picture windows of this downtown Portland loft home. The homeowners relax and enjoy the Willamette river view while sitting at a floating custom glass bar surface held up by a custom-designed stainless steel support structure. Dark Mahogany woodwork anchors the ambiance of this high rise haven, and a zebra wood desk and credenza provides a flair of frivolity. A bar cabinet utilizes sliding architectural glass doors with accent lighting behind.

Greene and Greener

The charming eating nook to the side of this hard working, hardwood kitchen overlooks hillside pastures dotted with livestock. Every spaceof the house had custom fitted cabinetry installed including the spacious kitchen, laundry room, guest bathroom, powder room, a master bath and closet area, home office and drafting studio and a media room with built-in audio-video components. The lines of the woodwork were fairly plain and unadorned, allowing the undulating grain patterns of the stained quarter cut Cherry and White Oak hardwood speak volumes.

Wine Country Repose

Bamboo and maple used for the cabinetry for this quiet mid century Yamhill county abode. A medley of stone, tile, glass, wood, bio-composite panels, acrylic shoji screen paper, aluminum and decorative metal hardware were utilized to provide accents and supportive textures to the finely-detailed casework and paneling.

Confectionary Loft

Brilliantly stained cabinetry and woodwork, as well as many locally handmade glass, steel, stone, tile and wood elements deftly were fused to create a daring composition in a remodeled loft in a Portland Pearl District condo building that was initially built in the 1900’s as Portland’s first confectionery production plant. Panelized and built-in appliances, specialized stone and tile installation and a serpentine overhead lighting system serve to provide endless examples of customization and organization.

Georgian Masterpiece

An extensive pallet of materials blend to create a perfect melody of color, texture, tone and geometry in this elegant kitchen remodel undertaken by the architect/real estate agent homeowners. A deep, but transparently stained quartersawn White Oak island acts as the keystone of the kitchen and gathering place for family and friends. Vibrantly stained Maple cabinets encircling the kitchen combine with brightly painted casework elements, trims and a box-beamed ceiling treatment complete the composition. A custom aluminum slab counter by Eleek, Inc, fabricated in Portland with a large degree of post-consumer aluminum functions as the sink and surrounding counters.
